Whole Person Defense

By December 2023, the Public Defender will train 100 percent of attorneys to identify needs and make timely referrals to the Holistic Defense Division to assess clients for enmeshed legal and social needs beyond acute mental health and substance use issues, link clients to supportive services, and create case plans that address the root causes of criminal legal system involvement.
