Disaster Mitigation

By December 2021 December 2020, Planning will update the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) to ensure continued eligibility for federal emergency, planning and post-disaster relief funds.

Assemble internal committee, develop work plan, collect data, conduct public meetings to identify need for amendments to existing plan. Issue Draft Local Hazard Mitigation Plan for review and comment by other agencies and the public, and prepare for adoption by the Board of Supervisors. Submit adopted LHMP update to the CA Office of Emergency Services (OES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Seek grants to fund hazard mitigation projects.
